A lazy day...

It's a snowy day here in Hudson. I was quite grateful to not have to go out on the roads this morning. Someone told Dad this morning that we got a foot of snow! It makes everything look so clean and white and I love that...I just hope I will still be enjoying it by the time March rolls around. :)

I had a lovely and very relaxing weekend...had off work on Saturday, did some cleaning etc. Oh and I had the privilege of skyping with friends from home. What a gift! Yesterday all our church activities were cancelled due to nasty roads so we spent a quiet day with the family. We all went out in the snow in the afternoon to get a bit of fresh air. :) Today is my day off for the week so I've just been catching up on stuff here at home. I want to make curtains for my room so that will probably be my next project for the rest of the day.  This evening is practice for Festival of Carols...hopefully the roads will be OK by the time we need to leave. It's snowing quite lazily right now so maybe it won't accumulate too much. :)

This week is sale week at the store and then Moonlight Madness on Friday so this promises to be a busy week. Add in Staff Fellowship on Thursday evening and Friday as well as Cookie Club on Wednesday evening...I think I will manage to stay busy this week. :)

Last evening I was reminded again of how grateful I am for this family I am a part of. After some arguing and a bit of tension among us older girls, we all congregated in my room to talk. And spent the next several hours talking together about life, our relationships, the changes that have happened to our family, insecurities we face, and many other random topics that came up. It felt like a much-needed time of connection for me and I'm so grateful for it. You know, my family is really the best one out there! Having only girls has made for a unique dynamic in our family-but it would be so strange to have anything different. I'm so glad to have my sisters as my best friends - as we all grow up if seems like we continue to connect at deeper levels - and that excites me. :) So just letting everyone know that I love my family!!! :)

A friend sent me a card and she had put a little bookmark in with the verse from Philippians 4:13 on it. I hung it right by my alarm clock where I see it all the time. There have been lots of moments since I'm here where I thought, "God, I just can't do this. I don't want to. It's too uncomfortable." And this verse has spoken to those thoughts so many times. "I can do all things THROUGH CHRIST who strengthens me." I can't on my own - it does look really overwhelming for me if I don't do it THROUGH CHRIST. So grateful for this reminder - and grateful that He wants to strengthen me and provide what I need to accomplish what He wants done.
